The Condemned Rain

The Condemned Rain

The barefoot people that
walked wearisome from an
other shore to the hereafter
in between cold wars and
aftermaths,
        disintegrated
and gathered over municipal
councils while epidemics
spread like water over the
many canals of land-plots.
Ten-thousand bodies
dispelled into mass
burials,
     flat tables held
flat maps spread out over
the natural element of rain,
which tapped at the extant.
